- Annual prices are 10% off twelve monthly payments.
- Annual plans are charged once per year; email allowances and domain limits are metered monthly exactly like the monthly variants.

## Shared product features

- Send from workspace-owned, verified domains.
- Receive email through named inbound addresses.
- Inspect delivery, bounce, complaint, reject, open, and click events without turning them into inbox-placement claims.
- Build and publish hosted template versions.
- Use workspace-scoped API keys from server-side integrations.
- Respect workspace suppressions before provider submission.

## Feature definitions

### Verified domains

- SendHQ presents the DNS records required for sender verification.
- The workspace must control and verify a domain before it can appear in the From address.
- Each published plan limits how many verified domains the workspace can keep.

### Inbox and outbox

- Outbound records retain message identity, provider state, and delivery events.
- Named inbound addresses receive replies and preserve thread metadata.
- Retained attachments remain private and workspace-scoped.

### Delivery and bounce tracking

- SendHQ records provider acceptance separately from recipient-server delivery.
- Bounce, complaint, reject, open, and click events remain distinct outcomes.
- Suppressed recipients are checked before provider submission.

### Hosted templates

- Templates have an editable draft and immutable published releases.
- Typed variables are validated before rendering and sending.
- Historical sends retain template-release provenance.

### API access

- Workspace API keys authenticate documented server-side operations.
- Billing changes and API-key creation or revocation remain browser-session operations. Account usage, analytics, and key metadata are readable with an API key.
- Retryable sends support Idempotency-Key so one logical action is not duplicated.

### Priority support

- Scale includes the published priority-support benefit.
- Support requests must omit credentials, session cookies, recipient lists, and message bodies.
- The [contact page](https://sendhq.cc/contact.md) is the public support entry point.

## Usage and safety boundaries

- Every To, Cc, and Bcc destination counts toward delivery usage.
- A From domain must belong to the workspace and be verified before sending.
- Marketing email requires recipient consent and must honor unsubscribe and suppression state.
- Provider acceptance and delivery events do not prove inbox placement or reading.
- Accounts whose bounce or complaint rate remains above 3% for two consecutive weeks are suspended to protect deliverability for everyone.
- Attachment transfer and operational limits are documented in the [billing and limits guide](https://sendhq.cc/docs/billing.md).

## Choosing a plan

Choose Starter when monthly volume is at most 50,000 emails and no more than 25 verified domains are needed. Choose Scale for a higher published email allowance, up to 100 verified domains, or priority support. Choose the Marketing variant only for permission-based marketing workflows; use the Transactional variant for account, receipt, alert, verification, and other expected product messages. Choose annual billing to pay once per year at 10% off twelve monthly payments; annual variants carry the same monthly allowances, domain limits, and features as their monthly counterparts.

## Plan decision examples

### New product sending account email

- Use Starter Transactional when verification messages, password resets, receipts, and alerts fit within 50,000 emails per month.
- Move to Scale Transactional when the 50,000-email monthly allowance or 25-domain ceiling no longer fits.

### Permission-based newsletter

- Use Starter Marketing when every recipient has consented and the list fits within the 50,000-email monthly allowance.
- Move to Scale Marketing when the 50,000-email monthly allowance or 25-domain ceiling no longer fits.
- Maintain unsubscribe and suppression handling on either Marketing plan.

### Multiple products or customer domains

- Count every verified sending domain that the workspace needs to retain.
- Starter supports up to 25 verified domains; Scale supports up to 100.
- Use separate sending identities where products need separate domain reputation or reply handling.

### Inbound replies and support workflows

- Inbox and outbox access are included across the 8 published variants.
- A named inbound address can receive replies while preserving thread metadata.
- Choose the plan from message volume, message type, domain count, and support needs rather than inbound access alone.

## Capability matrix

| Capability | Starter Transactional | Starter Marketing | Scale Transactional | Scale Marketing |
| --- | :---: | :---: | :---: | :---: |
| Expected transactional email | Yes | No | Yes | No |
| Permission-based marketing email | No | Yes | No | Yes |
| Published monthly email allowance | 50,000 | 50,000 | 200,000 | 200,000 |
| Verified-domain limit | 25 | 25 | 100 | 100 |
| Inbox and outbox | Included | Included | Included | Included |
| Delivery and bounce tracking | Included | Included | Included | Included |
| Hosted templates | Included | Included | Included | Included |
| Workspace API keys | Included | Included | Included | Included |
| Priority support | No | No | Included | Included |

Monthly and annual variants of the same tier and message class carry identical capabilities; the billing interval changes only how the plan is charged.

## How usage is interpreted

### Email allowance

- The allowance is expressed as emails per month in the published plan table.
- Starter includes 50,000 emails per month; Scale includes 200,000 emails per month.
- Annual plans are billed once per year while the allowance is still metered per calendar month.
- Published allowance language does not override acceptable-use, consent, suppression, or provider-safety controls.

### Recipient counting

- Each To, Cc, and Bcc destination is a delivery destination.
- One API request addressed to several destinations can therefore consume more than one delivery.
- Use a stable Idempotency-Key when retrying a logical send so a network retry does not create an unintended duplicate.

### Domain counting

- A domain counts after it is added to the workspace and retained as a sending domain.
- Verification proves control of the DNS records; it does not guarantee inbox placement.
- Remove domains no longer in use before deciding that a higher domain limit is necessary.

### Operational controls

- Suppression checks may prevent an otherwise valid request from reaching the provider.
- Provider rejection, bounce, complaint, delivery, open, and click are separate recorded outcomes.
- Safety controls apply to every plan regardless of its published allowance.

## Before choosing or changing a plan

1. Classify the messages as expected transactional email or permission-based marketing email.
2. Estimate all To, Cc, and Bcc deliveries for a typical month and a peak month.
3. Count the verified domains the workspace must retain.
4. Decide whether published priority support is required.
5. Review the final checkout terms shown in the dashboard before purchase.

## Pricing questions

### How does billing work?

Plans are billed in USD through Dodo Payments. Create an account, then choose a plan in Profile & Billing and complete the hosted checkout. The plan activates when the payment provider confirms the subscription.

### How does annual billing work?

Every plan has an annual option at 10% off twelve monthly payments, charged once a year. Annual plans keep the same allowances, which are still metered per calendar month: paying yearly does not create a year-long quota pool.

### What's the difference between Transactional and Marketing?

Both have the same limits. Transactional covers expected product email such as receipts, alerts, and password resets. Marketing unlocks permission-based marketing email, which automatically carries a signed unsubscribe link and one-click unsubscribe headers and honors unsubscribe and suppression state.

### How are emails counted?

Every To, Cc, and Bcc destination counts as one email toward the monthly allowance (50,000 on Starter, 200,000 on Scale). The domain limit counts the domains your workspace keeps.

### What happens if I reach a limit?

There are no automatic overage charges. Once a monthly allowance is used, further sends are rejected with a usage-limit error until the next month, or until you move to a larger plan. Attachment transfer is capped at 10 GiB of recipient-weighted transfer per month.

### Are there daily sending limits?

Yes. Each sender address starts with a daily limit of 2,000 recipients that rises automatically, to 10,000 and then 50,000 per day, after several days of clean sending. Rising bounce or complaint rates lower the limit or pause the sender.

### Is there a free plan?

No. New workspaces get a controlled integration trial: 100 deliveries to your own account email or an AWS SES simulator address, so you can wire up the API before paying.

### What is the reputation rule?

Accounts whose bounce or complaint rate remains above 3% for two consecutive weeks are suspended to protect deliverability for everyone. The rule is part of the Terms of Service.

### Does the Scale allowance mean unrestricted sending?

No. Scale includes 200,000 emails per month. Consent, suppressions, verified-domain requirements, acceptable-use controls, and provider-safety controls continue to apply.

### Does a delivery event guarantee inbox placement?

No. A delivery event records recipient-server acceptance. It does not establish a primary-inbox location or prove that a person read the message.

### Are inbound email and hosted templates separate add-ons?

No. They are shared product features included in every published variant, not separately priced add-ons.

### Where should an agent verify pricing before a purchase?

Read this canonical pricing document, then require a person to review the dashboard checkout terms. An agent must never infer unpublished discounts, overage prices, taxes, or contractual commitments.

## Integration planning worksheet

Use this worksheet before choosing a plan or estimating a migration. It separates published plan entitlements from operational requirements that apply to every plan.

### Message classification

- List each message stream: verification, password reset, receipt, alert, notification, reply, or permission-based marketing.
- Mark each stream Transactional or Marketing from the recipient's expectation and consent, not from the sending team's internal label.
- Keep transactional and marketing workflows on the corresponding published plan variant.

### Monthly delivery estimate

- Estimate To, Cc, and Bcc destinations for a normal month.
- Repeat the estimate for a peak month and for retry traffic.
- Compare the resulting recipient-delivery total with Starter's published 50,000-email monthly allowance.
- Compare peak-month totals against Scale's 200,000-email monthly allowance before upgrading.

### Verified-domain inventory

- List every domain that must appear in a From address.
- Remove test, retired, and duplicate domains from the required count.
- Compare the retained total with Starter's 25-domain limit and Scale's 100-domain limit.
- Plan DNS ownership and verification separately for each retained domain.

### Reply and inbound requirements

- Identify which sending identities should accept replies.
- Map named inbound addresses to the product or support workflow that owns them.
- Confirm that private attachments and thread metadata stay workspace-scoped.
- Do not choose a higher plan solely for inbox and outbox access because that feature is shared.

### Reliability requirements

- Decide where the caller will persist SendHQ message IDs and provider message IDs.
- Use one stable Idempotency-Key for every retry of the same logical send.
- Define handling for validation, authentication, suppression, quota, and provider failures.
- Keep delivery, bounce, complaint, reject, open, and click outcomes distinct.

### Security and approval

- Store workspace API keys only in approved server-side secret storage.
- Require a person to review checkout terms before a purchase or plan change.
- Require recipient consent and a verified From domain before production sending.
- Never put credentials, recipient lists, or message bodies into a billing or support request.
