# AgentMail Reviews 2026: Pricing, Limits and Alternatives

AgentMail reviews and honest pricing in 2026: an inbox API built for AI agents, what independent sources say, and alternatives. Pricing as of October 2026.

**Verdict.** AgentMail is a newer, purpose-built inbox API for AI agents, so there are few independent user reviews yet. We found one competitor-affiliated review and one Hacker News question, and we say so rather than inventing a consensus. This article therefore leans on AgentMail's own pricing page and flags what we could not verify.

We read [AgentMail's pricing page](https://www.agentmail.to/pricing), a May 2026 Mailforge review (Mailforge sells a competing product), and the 2025 Hacker News launch thread. We found no Trustpilot page with reviews we could read.

SendHQ is a competing email API and is mentioned where it differs. Quotes are copied verbatim from the linked pages and attributed by the display name and month shown there. Reviews are self-selected, we cannot verify individual claims, and a complaint is not a finding about the company.

## What users praise about AgentMail

- AgentMail's pricing page lists threads, labels, attachments, drafts, scheduled send, SDKs, an MCP server, webhooks and websockets, and says it is SOC 2 compliant. Those are vendor claims. A free plan with 3 inboxes and 3,000 emails per month lowers the cost of trying it.
- It is purpose-built for creating inboxes for agents programmatically, which is a real fit if that is exactly your workload.

## AgentMail complaints: common themes

### Deliverability controls and cost at scale (competitor-affiliated)

A May 2026 review by Mailforge, which sells email infrastructure, says Deliverability controls are limited compared to dedicated infrastructure platforms. It also says Costs can grow quickly at larger inbox volumes. Treat both as the view of a competitor.

### Why not use an existing provider?

At the August 2025 Hacker News launch, a commenter asked Postmark just made an open-source MCP server. I am using postmark already. Why would I use your tool? It is a fair question for any agent-email product: the answer depends on whether you need real inboxes and threads rather than only a send API.

### Daily and rate caps by plan

The pricing page lists 100 emails per day on Free, 1,000 per day on Developer and 15,000 per day on Startup, plus per-5-minute caps on paid plans. Plan around these if your agents send in bursts.

## AgentMail pricing (as of October 2026)

AgentMail's pricing page lists, as of October 2026: Free at $0 with 3 inboxes and 3,000 emails per month; Developer at $20 per month with 10 inboxes, 10,000 emails per month and 10 custom domains; Startup at $200 per month with 150 inboxes and 150 custom domains; Enterprise on request. Add-ons are $2 per month per inbox or domain and $2 per month per 1,000 emails. It lists an SMTP relay among its features.

## Is AgentMail good? Who it fits

- Good fit: agent builders who want many small inboxes created programmatically, with threads and an SDK, and who accept per-inbox pricing.
- Look carefully first if: you send high volume from few addresses, need many domains cheaply, or want established deliverability tooling.

## AgentMail alternatives

- **SendHQ.** The closest like-for-like: send and receive on your own domains, real inboxes and threads per address, and an MCP server so agents can send and read email. $9 per month includes 50,000 emails and 25 domains; $39 per month includes 200,000 emails and 100 domains. It also has a Resend-compatible sending API, templates and automatic suppression. Support comes directly from the founder. See [the MCP docs](https://sendhq.cc/docs/mcp.md).
- **Postmark.** Send API with an open-source MCP server; inbound on Pro and above.
- **Resend.** Send API plus inbound emails (see our Resend review).
- **Gmail or Workspace.** Real mailboxes that you manage yourself.
