Mailgun Reviews 2026: What Users Say, Complaints and Pricing
Mailgun reviews in 2026: users praise support and API, a minority report account disablement and surprise plan changes. Current pricing as of October 2026.
Verdict. Mailgun is one of the better-reviewed providers in this group. Of the 60 most recent Trustpilot reviews we read (April to September 2026), 43 were five-star and 9 were one-star, and a large share of the praise is about support. The one-star reviews repeat the sector-wide theme of sudden account disablement, plus complaints about plan changes.
We read Mailgun's Trustpilot page (1,533 reviews listed; 60 read across three pages plus the one-star list) and Mailgun's pricing page.
SendHQ is a competing email API and is mentioned where it differs. Quotes are copied verbatim from the linked pages and attributed by the display name and month shown there. Reviews are self-selected, we cannot verify individual claims, and a complaint is not a finding about the company.
What users praise about Mailgun
- Support is the most frequent compliment. A reviewer wrote in September 2026 that they were
delighted at how responsive and knowledgeable each person on the support thread was.
- Developers mention integration and features. In August 2026:
Easy Integration to our laravel application, mail delivered well
. In June 2026 a reviewer praisedsmart routing to detailed logs and analytics
.
Mailgun complaints: common themes
Account disablement (3 of 60 reviews)
A July 2026 reviewer wrote: With no warning or explanation, Mailgun suspended our account
. Another, the same month: they decided to permanently disable my account, without giving any reason.
A long-time customer wrote in September 2026: On September 7 they have disabled my account entirely.
Compare that with the many five-star support reviews: the same company draws both experiences, which fits a pattern where automated enforcement and human support are separate paths.
Plan and price changes
A September 2026 reviewer wrote: Without any noticed got my plan upgraded
. Entry pricing is also steeper than some peers: the Basic plan is $15 per month for 10,000 emails with 1 domain.
Shared IP reputation and canned replies
A June 2026 three-star reviewer attributed undelivered email to mailgun providing blacklisted shared IPs
, while acknowledging problems with their own list quality. Another June 2026 reviewer complained of Shocking canned responses from support that bear no resemblance to the question asked.
