Postmark Reviews 2026: Deliverability Praise and Common Complaints

Postmark reviews and complaints in 2026: strong deliverability reputation, but reviewers report slow manual approval, shutdowns, and declining support after the ActiveCampaign acquisition.

Verdict. Postmark is widely praised for deliverability and simplicity, and several reviewers still call it the best in class. Its recent complaints are about the front door (manual account approval) and the back door (account shutdowns and support). Our sample is small: 44 Trustpilot reviews in total, 20 one-star and 15 five-star, with the five-star reviews mostly older.

We read all 44 reviews on Postmark's Trustpilot page (2018 to May 2026), the Anukari migration write-up, and Postmark's pricing page.

SendHQ is a competing email API and is mentioned where it differs. Quotes are copied verbatim from the linked pages and attributed by the display name and month shown there. Reviews are self-selected, we cannot verify individual claims, and a complaint is not a finding about the company.

What users praise about Postmark

  • A February 2026 reviewer wrote: got my domain approved to send email on the same day.
  • Even a two-star reviewer in May 2026 said the platform itself is genuinely excellent. The Anukari developer chose Postmark after leaving Resend, citing a very good reputation for high deliverability and per-account, per-stream suppression lists.

Postmark complaints: common themes

Slow manual approval (3 reviews)

A June 2025 reviewer wrote: I wasted an entire week waiting on account approval just to send emails. A September 2025 reviewer wrote that they promise 24h for account review approval but you keep waiting and waiting, and then added that Postmark replied after 3 days. Approval experiences vary: others report same-day approval.

Shutdowns and pauses (3 reviews)

A January 2026 reviewer wrote: Postmark shut down our entire account after a single B2B broadcast, and said transactional email was blocked too. The reviewer says there was no separation between broadcast and transactional streams. Strict spam-complaint thresholds drew a 2024 complaint as well.

Post-acquisition decline (4 reviews)

A July 2025 reviewer wrote: Postmark used to be amazing before it was bought by ActiveCampaign. Another long-time user in February 2025 described support silence after the acquisition. A May 2026 reviewer described delivery webhook timing getting slower. These are opinions and anecdotes, not measurements.

Postmark pricing (as of October 2026)

Postmark's pricing page lists, as of October 2026, for 10,000 emails per month: Free at 100 emails per month; Basic at $15 per month with 5 domains; Pro at $16.50 per month with 10 domains and inbound email processing; Platform at $18 per month with unlimited domains. Extra emails are $1.80, $1.30 and $1.20 per 1,000 respectively. 45-day data retention is the default.

Is Postmark good? Who it fits

  • Good fit: teams where transactional deliverability is the priority and who can wait for account review.
  • Look carefully first if: you need to be sending today, run many domains on the Basic plan (limit 5), or mix broadcast and transactional traffic.

Postmark alternatives

  • SendHQ. $9 per month includes 50,000 emails and 25 domains, with inboxes and threads for inbound mail and an MCP server for agents. Postmark offers SMTP and a longer track record, and SendHQ runs on Amazon SES. Support comes directly from the founder. See pricing.
  • Resend. Newer, developer-experience focus.
  • Mailgun. More routing features, support praised.
  • Amazon SES. Cheapest, more manual.
